Chamonix Village

Mer de Glace 

Board the charming red cog railway up to Montenvers, from where you will take advantage of a fantastic view over the Mer de Glace (Iced sea). This magnificent glacier measures more of 7km of length is the longest glacier of France! 

Situated in 1913 meters of altutude, the site of Montenvers offers a grand panorama on the Mer de Glace. Once there, take the path to visit the Ice Cave (20min). You can also take the cable car but careful, you will have to take 480 steps ! Cut into the entrails of the glacier, the cave count us the lives of the montagnads of the begining of the XIX century.
